Transcript of BBC interview
Transcript of BBC interview -- Posted by Toby Joe on 03-23-04 03:55
Here is a link to the transcript of the BBC interview with Kofi Annan,
wherein he is usually referred to as having said, "The genocide of a
generation".
If it is there, I can't find it.

Here is the BBC presentation that followed from that interview, 6 days
later. It clearly refers to K.A. having said, "the genocide..". After
this, there were various other references to that phrase, in news articles
around the world, - they are still there on the web. Most of them seem to
reference to this link, below, as their cited source. One or two refer to
the interview itself, at the link above.

Now this reporter (above) says with such certainty that Kofi Annan said
that, but ... if he did, I can't find it. (And I looked through quite a few
other press releases and so on, also.)

Suggests there are a lot of lazy reporters, simply quoting each other,
doesn't it?

Maybe. The BBC had run a two week presentation for last year's World
AIDS day. The interview was only the beginning of that.

Has anyone heard Kofi Annan use the word "genocide" to refer to the calls by
Hamas, Hizbolla, et al to exterminate all Jews via suicide bombings of schools
and buses?
No. Kofi Annan is for this and many other reasons, a fucking asshole.
The Iraq food for oil program, overseen by his son, is a perfect example of his
character.
